Flame Retard Here's another one from the "stupid kids" file. After watching an episode of MTV's "Jackass" where a guy lit his legs on fire, a group of 13- and 14-year-old kids from Torrington, Connecticut decided to duplicate the feat. They took 13-year-old Jason Lind outside, doused him with gas, and lit him ablaze. "The boys...were fascinated with the MTV show and the stunt that they saw," said Torrington police Sgt. Paul E. Zeller. "They were really fascinated, so they went out and tried it, and the only thing that didn't occur to them is that on TV, the man was wearing a fire-retardant suit." When others inside the house realized what was going on, they ran outside, threw snow on Jason and brought him into the kitchen. Jason was rushed to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital before being flown by helicopter to Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston, fire officials said.
